IMPORTANT: Location Services needs to be enabled for WiFi MediaSync to be able to access your media files (this is because photos might contain GPS coordinates). This is an iOS requirement and your GPS location is not being acquired, nor used for any purpose.
If you have Restrictions turned ON, please make sure to Allow Changes for Location Services at least temporarily on first startup so MediaSync can get access to your Photos library.

New version of WiFi MediaSync is already in progress and when it's released it will also act as a client able to browse Photo Albums of another device as well as download media files. Separate MacOSX MediaSync client will be available in the Mac AppStore too.
